DERROLL’S PAINTING EXHIBITION

You’re like a conductor of the orchestra, the audience is the orchestra, and you’re conducting them… and you do this and they cry… you do that and they laugh… the whole thing… you build like that see… Well it’s the same thing with painting… you build here, you build there, it’s all, it’s all… living and dying and breathing and… but this it’s the same thing to me, it’s the same thing to me.

Vous êtes comme un chef d’orchestre, le public est l’orchestre, et vous le dirigez… et vous faites ceci et ils pleurent… vous faites cela et ils rient… le tout… tu construis comme ça, tu vois… Eh bien, c’est la même chose avec la peinture… tu construis ici, tu construis là, c’est tout, c’est tout… vivre et mourir et respirer et… mais ça, c’est la même chose moi, c’est la même chose pour moi.
Voyons maintenant quel genre de rose je peux obtenir ici… Imbécile un peu ici… et peut-être réussir à me sauver… Beau visage… Même si je n’avais pas compté sur celui-là… . et… »

TENTOONSTELLING VAN DERROLL’S SCHILDERIJEN
NL // Derroll mijmert over de overeenkomsten tussen banjospelen op een podium en schilderen:
« Maar ik zal je iets vertellen… Je kent de… Bijvoorbeeld… Je werkt op het podium, en eh, het is hetzelfde als dit, in een andere… zoals hier ben je alleen, jij Je werkt gewoon alleen, op het podium heb je natuurlijk publiek… Maar wat je op het podium doet, is hetzelfde als dit. Je bent als een dirigent van het orkest, het publiek is het orkest, en jij dirigeert ze… en je doet dit en ze huilen… je doet dat en ze lachen… de hele zaak… je bouwt zo, zie… Nou, het is hetzelfde met schilderen… je bouwt hier, je bouwt daar, het is alles, het is allemaal… levend en stervend en ademhalend en… maar dit is hetzelfde met mij, voor mij is het hetzelfde.
Laten we nu eens kijken wat voor soort roze ik hier kan krijgen… Speel hier een beetje rond… en misschien red ik me… Mooi gezicht… Hoewel ik daar niet op had gerekend. . En… »
